Brewing great coffee in a home drip coffee maker is not that
difficult, provided you have the right equipment, the right water,
proper filter, and a quality freshly roasted coffee.
Brewing great coffee requires a quality drip coffee maker
The
low-end drip coffee makers, let's say those priced below $30, seem to
allow the water to pass through the ground coffee too quickly. The true
flavor of the coffee is produced by the exchange of the heat and the
minerals in the water. So, if the water is not hot enough or passes
through too rapidly, the coffee will not have the best flavor.
Some
quality drip coffee makers have a built-in water reservoir that
provides a constant supply of hot water. Others heat the water as you
pour it into the coffee maker and this method may not get the water hot
enough to brew properly.
